Good morning folks, following on from my last post I am pleased to present the mercenary contingents that may grace the factional forces in the War of the Roses. Needless to say that the majority of these have come from the Perry mercenary box set.
First up we have the handgunners. I am slightly uncomfortable about having lots of handgunners on the table for this period, and so I have just stuck with three very small units. Each of which is six strong.
I am however happy with crossbow units and have painted up two units (12 strong) in greens/yellows and red/blacks. Just need to finish off their pavises.
The late 15th century saw Europe enter the dawn of the pike & shotte period, and by the time the English were fighting the WOTR, many European armies were featuring big pike blocks so it made sense to feature some of these chaps.
Shown below are 72 pikemen (or 4 units of 18) - mostly Perry but also some Front Rank
So I am also there - the only units left to show you are my artillery and my Irish Kern. No doubt these will feature very soon
